Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad activists stormed a hush-hush meeting of seven private medical college management representatives on Wednesday evening, holding the participants, including former chief secretary V. Ranganathan, under virtual house arrest until late evening.

The student activists unexpectedly swooped down on the unpublicised meeting, which was being held at the Somaiya Trust office at Fazalbhoy Mansion near Flora Fountain, and refused to budge until their demands on the controversial fee structure were met.
